- Does Speechify have a free trial?
- Yes, for Premium. Speechify's terms (updated July 1, 2025) set the free trial at three days, unless the sign-up screen states a different length. When the trial ends, it turns into a paid subscription at the current price, charged to the payment method you gave at sign-up. Speechify's help center says to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid the charge. The trial is separate from Speechify's free plan, which has no time limit.
- Why are Speechify's App Store prices different from its website?
- Speechify sells Premium both on its website and through Apple, at different prices. On October 24, 2026, Speechify's website listed $29 a month or $139 a year, while its US App Store listing showed "Premium Monthly" purchases at $11.99 and $24.99, "Premium" at $139.99 and "Speechify Premium" at $159.99. Apple's list does not name every billing period, and Speechify's help center says Premium can be monthly, quarterly or annual, while the pricing page shows only monthly and yearly. The price on the payment screen is the one you pay.
- Is there a Speechify student discount?
- Speechify says so, but we could not find a live offer. Speechify's blog (updated July 14, 2026) says verified students get 25% off Premium through UNiDAYS or Student Beans, and that US K-12 students can get Premium free through its education program with academic verification. On October 24, 2026, Speechify's UNiDAYS page showed no current offer ("Stay tuned for new Speechify offers"), and Speechify's pricing page listed no student price. Schools and districts buy through Speechify's sales team.

- Yes. SpeakCove's reading, document scanning and speech all run on your iPhone or iPad, so imported documents play in airplane mode. The app only goes online for the book store, research-paper search, iCloud sync and the Premium purchase. Speechify has also had on-device voices that work offline on iOS since December 2025.
- Do I need an account for Speechify or SpeakCove?
- SpeakCove has no account, email or sign-up, and no ads, analytics or tracking in the app; its free web reader needs no sign-up either.
